Resume examples by job

Sample resumes written for one job each: the duties that job is judged on, the licenses and certifications it asks for (with the body that issues them), the tools people in that job name, and the numbers worth putting on the page.

A nurse's resume leads with a license and a unit. An actor's lists credits and union status. An engineer's puts the FE exam and the CAD software where a reader looks first. Those differences decide whether a resume reads as someone who has done the work, so each page below covers its job alone, and none of them shares a bullet with another.

How to use a resume example without copying it

An example shows the shape of a strong resume for a job: which sections come first, how a bullet for that work is built, which credentials belong near the top. It cannot show what you did. Recruiters read many resumes for the same role, and phrasing lifted from a sample is easy to spot because it describes a person who does not exist.

  • Keep the structure: section order, the way each entry is laid out, where licenses sit.
  • Replace every number. The figures in our samples are placeholders, and a number you cannot explain in an interview does more harm than none.
  • Rewrite each bullet from your own work. Use the example's pattern (action, scope, result) with your unit, your students, your tables or your projects.
  • Cut what does not apply. A credential you do not hold, a tool you have not used or a setting you have not worked in should go.
  • Match the posting. Mirror the job ad's wording for skills you genuinely have, then check what a parser reads with the resume checker.

Open an example in the builder

Every example has a “Use this example” button. It opens the sample as a new resume in the builder, in the template shown on the page, so you edit a finished document instead of a blank form. It never replaces a resume you are working on: if you have unsaved work in your browser, the builder keeps it open and asks first.

From there you can switch to any of the 16 templates without retyping, and pull in more pre-written bullets and summaries for your job from the examples drawer. Building and previewing are free; the PDF and Word downloads are a one-time payment.
